Departing from the small port of Kastelli (Kissamos), west of Chania, a boat will take you to the island of Gramvousa. Gramvousa, surrounded by rocky cliffs and endless blue sea, is undoubtedly a paradise. Crowned by a Venetian castle built to protect the island from the Turkish conquest and occupation. The castle was raided many times by pirates including the famous Barbarossa.
Following our visit to Gramvousa, the boat will depart for the lagoon of Balos. The famous lagoon of Balos – surely, is one of the most beautiful parts of Greece. The lagoon has white sand and exotic white, vivid blue and turquoise waters. The sea is very shallow and warm, ideal for young children. In many places the sand has a lovely pinkish color, because of millions of crushed shells. The boat will leave you for a swim and sunbathing in the exotic beach of Balos. The bar on board is open all day and for extra charge you can have lunch, refreshments, coffee, ice-creams etc, while enjoying pleasant music.
